We are growing, AGAIN! As you may have heard, we recently announced that we are adding a new space in Pittsburgh’s Northside, at 1501 Buena Vista St. in the Mexican War Streets Historical district. We’re quite excited about another space to pour our best cup as we sit down in your neighborhood.
Well, it is our pleasure to announce another new member to the Commonplace roster, Commonplace Reeger’s! The Reeger’s are long time friends of the Fairchild’s, a beautiful family that has long farmed just outside Indiana PA. They have a farm stand, that includes a kitchen and large retail/seating area, that they’ve not been using in the recent past. As we’ve added a new retail space, it seemed that our consumption of baked goods met at the intersection of available space! The third intersecting road was that our own Taylor has had years experience baking. This is how it happens for Commonplace, it seems: the variables line up of their own accord and we follow the wind as it blows!
This means that when you stop in at one of our retail locations, you get Taylor’s goodness on your plate! We’re also working on food prep around certain allergies, particularly nut allergies. We’re trying to tweak our recipes so they will not have any nuts within, with the exception of the almond flour in Jeanette’s gluten free donuts. (We’re still working with her, as GF baked goods are their own specialty.) This would make our facility is free as well, so you could munch with confidence if you have mild or acute responses to nuts.
As we continue on this journey, we’ll keep you posted about our avant garde forays into the bake goods world, new build outs, or new uses for the space. (Of which there may be!) Here are some pictures to slake your baked thirst…
